Mr. Olsen, Sir Thanks for your thoughtfulness on the beauty of YOUR area.
I beg to differ on the shoveling aspect. We may not shovel the rain proper but we still shovel to get it to go away/ somewhere else. Same difference to me... manual labor is involved in both. Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR. BTW, Looks like we will be shoveling again.
Snow(about a foot) rain--more than I thought could fall--cold--turned everything in to one big icicle. Bunch of spoil sports-- I try to share our wonderful weather--and all you guys do is complain. Remember--you don't need ti shovel rain. Tom

I don't know what forge coal is selling for these days, or house coal either. Historically, our business has been bulk sales to utilities, steel plants, and charcoal factories.
Steam coals are selling at about $45/ton in the railcar these days. Metallurgical coals vary in quality, but all are priced relatively high right now, with the cheapest being about $80/ton. Keep in mind these are bulk sales of 10,000 to 50,000 tons per month. Considering this, I'd would say you can expect to pay quite a bit more for 1 or 2 tons at a time.
Gus is closest guy to you that I know of. We haven't sold him any coal in several years, but at that time he used to keep various grades of coal on his yard in Fries.
We don't have any production right now or I would give you 2 tons if you'd come and get it!
