which is best to wax dirt or sand which do you perfer and why. I was donated a concrete mixer today and was wondering which would be best and fastest and easy thanks or any others

I have used both . So which ever one you have dry start heating then add wax.

thanks Linvol which do you think is easiear to work with or out performs the other if any I will be trying to make a little before long just wondering on personal perference

If in windy places go with sand. Now if you have to carry a long ways use dirt .

Mix 5 gallon of dry dirt with 5 gallons of sand and wax it and see how you like it .

how much wax do you mix 5 gallon of dirt any measurement on the ratio of wax to dirt

I just check ever so often, mix awhile take some out add water if water mixes to mud keep adding wax when water shed off and don't mix should be ready. Keep mixer running till cool.

thanks all this one has blades in it to mix the cement do I need to take them out or leave them which way works best thanks in advance for opinions and advice

thanks for all the advice Linvol and others made some today man that is a whole lot easier and quicker than trying to make in the oven or sun man made enough to last the rest of the season or close to it in no time and been using peat you know how hard to bed in peat moss a big THANKS again to all

make your sets so water will run off. If it cannot the water will freeze and set will not work. Next day remove the ice set should be ok if bedded in wax dirt. be careful trap could freeze down from the bottom and the top looks ok.
